My name is J.C. Carlbom, I’m a Swedish writer and former humanitarian aid worker with a thing for the Middle East. I have lived in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Kuwait and Iraqi Kurdistan and traveled to many other countries in the region. Sweden and the Middle East are two interesting contrasts in many ways, but contrasts can also be something positive – at least in my view. On this website I’m sharing with you articles, updates and views – from other perspectives than the most common ones in Western media.
My articles have been published in the newspapers Sydsvenska Dagbladet and Skånska Dagbladet; the feminist magazine Astra Nova; the Swedish Institute of International Affairs’ and A Brave New World’s websites, and in Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ information campaign Midwives4all.
Please note that the articles and posts here is a part of my professional work as a writer and does not mirror the policy of the humanitarian NGOs that I have been/am currently working with.

I’ve always loved Sweden, Finland and Norway because of their social system and people oriented government. They are more humanitarian than capitalist country such USA. BTW, I like your creative weblog Jenny.
